ANALYSIS
It was an excellent bounce-back performance from Ruffy on the heels of his submission defeat to Benoit Saint-Denis in September. His issue in that fight was his inability to defend the takedown. Here, against a fellow stand-up artist in Fiziev, he was able to get back to his greatest strength. Ruffy is long and has pinpoint striking. He's low-volume at times, and that projects to be an issue moving forward, but the power is entirely legitimate, as Fiziev found out first-hand. The Brazilian improves to 4-1 in his first five UFC bouts and will take home a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here. His long-term ceiling is almost directly tied to his ability to improve his grappling chops.

This figures to be the game plan moving forward for every single opponent facing the Brazilian. There's a hole in his game that he's going to have to clean up.

The blow hit Green right in the temple and dropped King face-first to the canvas. It was truly a thing of beauty. Ruffy spent his post-fight interview calling for a headline spot against Beneil Dariush on a Fight Night card. It's not a bad idea.
