Facing Chandler at the White House
LightweightUFC
March 8, 2026
Ruffy will take on Michael Chandler in a lightweight matchup at the UFC White House card scheduled for June 14.
ANALYSIS
Ruffy was cruising towards a title shot before a September loss to Benoit Saint-Denis halted that momentum, but he bounced back with a quality victory over Rafael Fiziev in January, doing so emphatically with a second-round finish. He now draws Chandler, who is more name than game at the age of 39, having lost five of his last six fights. Ruffy will enter with major height and reach advantages, as well as an edge in volume striking. He sports an excellent takedown defense of 85 percent, which likely negates Chandler's biggest strength. As such, it's not surprise to see him open as the largest betting favorite on the card, in the ballpark of (-400).

Gets right back in win column
LightweightUFC
January 31, 2026
Ruffy defeated Rafael Fiziev via TKO (punches) at 4:30 of Round 2 at UFC 325 on Saturday in Sydney, Australia.
ANALYSIS
It was an excellent bounce-back performance from Ruffy on the heels of his submission defeat to Benoit Saint-Denis in September. His issue in that fight was his inability to defend the takedown. Here, against a fellow stand-up artist in Fiziev, he was able to get back to his greatest strength. Ruffy is long and has pinpoint striking. He's low-volume at times, and that projects to be an issue moving forward, but the power is entirely legitimate, as Fiziev found out first-hand. The Brazilian improves to 4-1 in his first five UFC bouts and will take home a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his efforts here. His long-term ceiling is almost directly tied to his ability to improve his grappling chops.
Draws Fiziev at UFC 325
LightweightUFC
December 14, 2025
Ruffy will take on Rafael Fiziev in a lightweight matchup at UFC 325 on Jan. 31, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Ruffy was cruising to start his UFC career, picking up three consecutive wins before running into Benoit Saint-Denis and falling via decision in September. The Fighting Nerds prospect will get a big bounce-back opportunity here against a veteran in Fiziev who is also coming off an injury that forced him out of an October fight. Ruffy will enter with height and reach advantages, as well as youth on his side.
Can't defend takedown in loss
LightweightUFC
September 6, 2025
Ruffy lost to Benoit Saint-Denis via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:56 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Paris.
ANALYSIS
This was the first time in four UFC fights that Ruffy went up against an opponent that was actively trying to take him down. We got an answer in regards to how his defensive grappling would hold up against a wrestler and it wasn't a positive one. Ruffy's perceived edge in terms of pure power and overall striking ability was negated by his inability to remain upright. He gave up three takedowns and 4:38 worth of control time in a fight which lasted under eight minutes. Ruffy eventually tapped out to a rear-naked choke. This figures to be the game plan moving forward for every single opponent facing the Brazilian. There's a hole in his game that he's going to have to clean up.
Facing Saint-Denis in Paris
LightweightUFC
July 31, 2025
Ruffy will fight Benoit Saint-Denis at UFC Paris on September 6, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Ruffy will head into the bout riding a seven-fight win streak across promotions dating back to 2021. The 29-year-old Brazilian will take a slight reach advantage into the bout in comparison to the Frenchman. With an 11-1 professional record in KO/TKO finishes, Ruffy will be looking to use his stopping power to take out Saint-Denis, though he will have to keep out of the reach of the submission specialist.
Makes statement with huge win
LightweightUFC
March 8, 2025
Ruffy defeated King Green via KO (kick) at 2:07 of Round 1 at UFC 313 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Clearly upset he was forced to go the distance with James Llontop at Madison Square Garden last November, Ruffy wasted no time getting Green out of there with a spinning wheel kick which will earn him a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus and be in the conversation for Knockout of the Year when 2025 concludes (the bonus was later confirmed by UFC President Dana White). The blow hit Green right in the temple and dropped King face-first to the canvas. It was truly a thing of beauty. Ruffy spent his post-fight interview calling for a headline spot against Beneil Dariush on a Fight Night card. It's not a bad idea.
